FABRICATION SUPERVISOR

What We Are Looking For:

We are currently seeking a Fabrication Supervisor who supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the fabrication of sheet metal products. Also proposes changes and equipment necessities to the operations manager for improvements.

Responsibilities:

* Analyzes work orders, bills of materials and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations and sequence of operations required. Also looks for allotted time for jobs and conveys to employees involved in producing the production work order.

* Requisitions dies, fixtures an material as necessary. Responsible for associated machinery and reports needed, as well as maintenance and machine repairs.

* Sets up and operates machines to make test runs and experimental products as required and inspects all work in progress.

* Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Manages employees in department to time estimates for each job. Holds employees accountable for these times.

* Recommends measures to improve production methods equipment performance and quality of product.

* Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Assist in plant layout and process and material flow.

* Relates and enforces company policies and safety regulations to workers. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Performs activities of workers supervised. Selects, manages and coordinates with subordinate lead personnel for each area of manufacturing.

* Reviews time and production records and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

* Assists sales functions as required to establish methods, costing and scheduling of custom products.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* Directly supervises 12-18 employees in the fabrication/ machine shop.

* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

* Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, recommending rewards and/or discipline for employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Performing annual reviews and initial pay rate increases for all fabrication employees with operations manager.

Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills: Ability to figure amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area of circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Other skills and ABILITIES: Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office programs.

What We Are Looking For:

We are currently seeking a Quality Control Test Technician who provides instruction & leadership to employees & customers in the areas of customer service, trouble shooting, startups, parts, field service, warranty evaluations, and returned goods. Design and construct new test equipment. Assist test, service & quality control departments. Perform new product R&D & evaluation, Provide technical training for customers, representatives & employees on new & existing products.

Responsibilities:

* Perform technical support via telephone, fax, & email. Provides customers with answers to technical questions, over the phone troubleshooting, drawings, & general assistance

* Complete functional testing of all models of completed controllers & custom built controls

* Assist engineering department with research, development, and evaluation of new proposed equipment

* Designs & constructs new test equipment

* Perform quality inspections & documentation for all TSSI projects

Qualifications:

* Ability to read & interpret wiring schematics

* Experience working with 12 VDC to 120 VDC

* Experience working with 12 VAC to 38,600 VAC

* Ability to troubleshoot relay logic & PLC based circuits

* Across the line & reduced current motor control troubleshooting & testing

* Variable frequency drive control troubleshooting & testing

* Switch board troubleshooting & testing

* Ability to troubleshoot equipment & conduct training over the phone

* Ability to travel for extended periods of time (up to 75% of the time) to accomplish customer training, service repairs or start ups

* Must have a clean driving record & be eligible for government clearance work

* Grinds rough edges, surplus weld, or scale according to blueprints, shop drawings and oral instructions

* Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment. Performs other routine maintenance duties.
